Save Saigon Graves

MY deepest thnks to some Tourists who gave me these photos. Taken beginning of 2011.

Please send email request to Veitnam govt.

Pls send simple email to Govt. asking them to please help stop this sale and destruction of this site that is a history to Veitnam.

This way i can print a copy and make a petition to various Organizations here who will help us request the Vietnam government to stop the destruction of this place.

Also it is proof.

People support is very important. Remember this is not only a religion matter, but also a matter of Veitnam History. People from South India played a great role in the building of Saigon since the turn of the century. By removing this site, its like deleting a rich past history of Saigon.

Ho chi Minh today is a great tourist destination. the Government must understand all these places serve as a rich memory of the story of Veitnam.

How can Vietnam reach its goal of being a Developed country in 2020 according to their statements in the WTO and United Nations if they go about destroying rich historical sites.

A Plea - Send an Email to Saigon

Send an email to the government of Veitnam. Ask them to please stop the illegal and highly improper sale

of this property. give it back to the people…give it back to the history of Vietnam.

Let all the residents of this grave site sleep.  After all the work they did for the Veitnamese people and the welfare of so many others…they deserve the right to rest in peace.

This is not about religion, or land and money, about you or even about me…..

Its a simple story about Us.

…we may even never meet….but we are Revolutionaries ….in this New world…..

ask them to please stop the destruction of this site.

At the age of 14, Young Aziz traveled to Saigon via Singapore on a British Passport.

From sweeping the floors of small departmental stores, he rose to be a Statesman bringing peaceable agreements between various Governments.

The National Order of Vietnam is the highest civilian order ever given for services rendered to the People and State of Vietnam.

The decoration was created in 1950 and was awarded to any person who performed “grandiose works, remarkable deeds, exhibited bravery, or for those who have honored and served the country by lofty virtues and outstanding knowledge.”

JM Abdul Aziz is one of the fewest known people to ever receive this Order.

i am grateful to the author for writing this article. i will try to get an english version up soon.

Why save THIS Gravesite ?

I was asked why save this grave site. besides the fact that its wrong to destroy a gravesite and Mosque especially when the land belongs to the community and was not illegally occupied in anyway or form….

many people buried here were people who loved Vietnam. Most of them rather chose to rest here than be taken back to their homeland to be buried nearer their famillies.

If you ever visit Vietnam, you will know what it means to miss home. At the airport, you will actually begin to miss it. You will know…that you will return someday…to say hello…such is the land and hospitality of the Vietnamese people. All it takes is a simple smile from a shopkeeper…a passerby….and you will know what it means to be Home…

This gravesite is home…to all these people….

One of its famous residents is JM Abdul Aziz, Philantrophist, Educator, Statesman, Diplomat, Businessman and a friend. Most important was he never turned away anyone who needed his help or assistance.
